Boss just kinda reminded us in our usual Monday Meeting today that the trips thats lined up from December onwards would really be, a waste to miss such all-expenses paid trip in at least 4-stars accommodation.
The itinerary:
Dec - Taiwan
Jan - Osaka
Feb - Break!
Mar - Korea
Apr - Macau
May - Break!
Jun - San Diego
Jul - Break!
Aug - Los Angeles
Not forgetting there's a Bangkok trip that is now still been put on hold due to the country's state of emergency. The likely travel period is from Oct till Nov... ooHoohoO~

Food Loft - 富 禄 阁

Went to try out the new food stall and finally reminded myself to remember the name of the kopitiam, which is call the Food Loft - 富 禄 阁. Great translation for the business owner who adopted this Chinese name :)
Wanted to order the set dishes from the Herbal Soup stall but they were all sold out and that was about 8.30pm, all they have are a few soup variety and rice so my friend and I ordered the turtle soup, which is one of my favourite childhood soup :P and mixed roast - chicken and duck from the next stall. Pity I forgot to bring my phone out or I would snap a pic of the yummy dishes.
The soup is better than I had expected of a kopitiam just not much of meat though and at $19 its a tad too expensive for a small claypot that serves 2. The roasts are just normal nothing special.
Almost at the end of the meal, I saw the sign '24 hour' been put up and a reminder to keep noise level down after 10pm. This I had not expected as a part of a very serene neighbourhood, I wonder how the landscape is going to change? For now, late night should be safer in this quiet enclave.

2 weeks ago, I was shocked the coffeeshop at my house downstairs had closed for business, which I soon found out that they had closed for renovations and were targeting to re-open for business 2 weeks later, which is today! No wonder the lion dance and drum roll in the early morning.
Its the 1st day of business opening and its so crowded when i went down at about 7pm than again that's the dinner crowd. My fave chicken chop stall and BBQ stingray are now sharing one shop space compared to what they used to have before, I wonder if they missed the space.
The corner beverage stall is now occupied by 'fan cai' stall and the other corner that used to be the chicken chop and stingray is taken up a 'zi cha' stall.
There's more variety than before and the place definitely looks spruced up with bright lights, big LCD TVs with sheltered blinds. Food variety includes a chicken rice stall, ramen stall, porridge, dim sum, beverage with fruits (never had fruits before)..hmmm dun think i remember seeing a Indian or Malay food stalls *scratch head*
I didn't get any food from the kopi tiam in the end cause its too crowded instead went over to the other corner coffee shop. Comparatively, this end looks so pathetic with only the zi cha and beverage business but at least I got my fried rice in under 5 mins.

Ya created this new look for my blog after some photobucket thingy say that I've exceeded the band width and not knowing how to clear it, the next best thing is to change the look of my blog... so vola~
Anyway, had wanted to change 'cos I like to refresh my blog look and also an opportunity to share with you what talents we have of young people today coming up with neat blogskins :) The only promble is having to create the links back which is not too difficult. After this change, I have decided to save the common used links for future changes :P
So, if there's any new blogskins worth looking let me know :)

Reached home almost quarter to midnight and was not expecting anyone to be home, since my room mate should be in Osaka by now for a 3 weeks holiday! And its so sweet of him that he is meeting his mum in Osaka to tour around.
In case you are wondering, my room mate is a French and he's been working in Singapore for many years. His mum is staying of course in France, so they are meeting in between to catch up... Sweet isn't it? Wonder when and if my sons will ever plan a travel with me :P
So back to home, was shocked to find that he's unpacked... reason: He couldn't find his passport! *horrors* and just on the day that he was to fly did he realised it was nowhere to be found. He had search every nooks and corners, flipping the whole room upside down and just couldnt find it. I find it real strange that an important document as a passport can go missing mysteriously right in the room!
*twilight zone

I've been anticipating to go on a company's incentive trip to BKK in the coming week but news broke out that Thailand is in state of emergency so the trip is officially postphone till indefinite and even the destination might change

I've been kicked out of the eligibility league to join the ballot queue for the BTO BECAUSE I'm short of 1 year to the 5 year time bar under the HDB requirement to get new flat for divorcee

Good Luck to the rest who are still in the queue.
Oh well, its back to the resale hunt
